Family Garden for A New Build House in Hassocks

This garden has a common overlooking issue. Since the clients, Paulina and Chris, adore organic shapes, I used the curved shape to guide the eyes towards a relaxing pergola seating area so that focus will be shifted from the house directly on the opposite side. A lush clumping bamboo hedge is planted in a corten steel raised bed to add structural interest and much more privacy. Metal edging is used to divide the flower bed and gravel oath to the lawn. With organic shapes and a carefully chosen planting palette, the space feels so inviting and dynamic!

Paulina is so pleased with the design, she said:

“We cannot believe how big our back garden is now. Echo's design has enlarged it with magic. The garden now is my favourite part of the house. We all love spending time in the garden and watching the plants to grow. Plenty of colours and interests in the garden. My daughter started helping me with gardening. We take care of our plants together. It is wonderful for her!”
